The M110 Semi-Automatic Sniper System (or M110 SASS) is a semi-automatic rifle that uses 7.62 mm NATO match grade ammunition. It is intended to replace the M24 Sniper Weapon System and M21 Sniper Weapon System used by snipers, spotters, designated marksmen, or squad advanced marksmen in the United States Army. The U.S. Army ran a competition involving several designs, including ones from Knights Armament Company, Remington, and DPMS Panther Arms. It is interesting to note that all the entries from these companies seemed to use designs based around the AR-10 action. On 28 September 2005, the Knights Armament Co. rifle won the competition and was selected to be the M110 Semi-Automatic Sniper System. In April 2007, U.S. Army soldiers from Task Force Fury in Afghanistan were the first in a combat zone to receive the M110. Part1 | Part2

as soon as i saw this rifle on future weapons i jus laughed, learn a lesson, people will always complain if there isn't a advance in power or accuracy. the american army should stick to m107's, if its not made in 50 bmg cal then they aren't going to like it haha.
jus stick to bolt action rifles thats what the british ahve doen with the extremely succesful L115A3 which is probably the best sniper rifle in the world taking into account accuracy, recoil, weight, manouverability, reliability, power and range, it may be a bit pricey but no one will complain ever! oo and why doesn't someone make a bullpup semi auto sniper an add a 40 inch barrel haha that'd be niceee.

the M110 is shooting under a minute. in terms of accuracy, there isnt a great deal of room to improve on when compared to the m-14. if you want proof of semi-auto accuracy, look at some JP enterprise rifles shooting a quarter minute. and that is the actual report of the weapon, not a "pew" sound. if you listen carefully, you can hear the ballistic crack of the bullet down range.

250 yard targets? I didn't hear anything about moa or accuracy out at 1100 meters comparable to the WWI Springfield. Sacrificing accuracy for rate of fire. Seems that this system mostly about a Pica tinny rail to hang accessories on. SR-25's been around for awhile. Undoubtedly a good replacement for M-14's which don't have the rail and mounting capability. But didn't hear anything regarding improvement in ballistic performance or accuracy. Not much progress in 50 or 100 years of rifle marksmanship.

god i wanna be a fucking sniper so bad its great i love the work snipers do.... amazing!!!!

Looks like an AR-10! I love how FutureWeapons never uses the real noise of the firearms they're testing. Instead of the normal pop, they replace it with a Hollywood 'pew' sort of noise, the kind that anyone who knows much about firearms knows is fake.
